Is it better to peel apples before eating them?
Apple skin contains a whole range of substances – such as lignin and cellulose – which aid intestinal regularity and digestion. A recent study revealed that triterpenoids, substances which can prevent the propagation of cancerous cells, are present in the skin of some apples. We would therefore advise you to eat apples without peeling them, having washed them first for the sake of hygiene, since they change hands a lot between tree and table.
